GA-DE Makeup Review + Swatches
I was sent a few products from GA-DE cosmetics to try out and let you know what I think of them. Today, I'm going to share a makeup review of each product one-by-one. I received the basics matte eyeshadow palette, idyllic high definition mascara, high precision matte eye liner, and two of the soft satin lip sticks in the shades bare chic and wine divine.
I feel like I need to preface this post with a little disclaimer. I don't generally buy my beauty products directly on a company's website. I like to buy them at places like Ulta or Sephora where it's easily accessible and I receive reward points.
Let's first talk about the lipsticks. They retail for $20 a piece. I'm a nude lip girl at heart so the shade bare chic piqued my interest much more than wine divine did. The formula is very moisturizing and applied very smoothly. Overall, I liked both colors. The darker shade was a little more patchy than the nude shade though. At the price point, I don't think they're worth it. I've been loving the Maybelline Inti-matte Lipsticks that are $7.99 and the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks are AMAZING; they are $26, but you can pick them up at Sephora and skip the $5 for shipping from GA-DE.
I don't have much to say about the eyeshadow palette. I was excited when I saw that this was a neutral matte palette -- it's easy to create an entire look with the shades in this palette. There isn't a ton of fall out on any of the colors which is nice. That's about the only good thing I have to say about the palette. The colors weren't very pigmented -- I had to really build up every swatch for them to show up at all. They were pretty stiff and didn't blend as well as I think they should have considering they $31 price tag on this palette. If you're looking for a matte eyeshadow palette, the Tarte Tartlette Matte Eyeshadow Palette is my favorite one. It is a bit more expensive, coming in at $46, but you get 12 shades instead of 8 and they are all pigmented, creamy, and blend like a dream!
The eyeliner is $16 and dries down to a matte finish. This was the product that I enjoyed the most. It was truly black which I appreciate. Sometimes products are advertised as black, but aren't as pigmented as you'd expect them to be. The wand was really easy to maneuver and get a precise line. This is the product I'd recommend the most out of all of them. It's very similar to the NYX Matte Liquid Liner which is $6.99.
The mascara was so-so. Nothing to write home about. At $18, there are so many drugstore options to pick up that are way better in my opinion and high-end that aren't much more expensive. A couple of my favorites are the L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes which is $8.99 and Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes which is $21.
Alright, that rounds up my thoughts on each of these products. This is by far the most negative review I've ever done which I feel a little bad about, but I have to be honest with you guys so that you don't spend your hard earned cash on something that you may regret. I hope that this makeup review post helped you make an informed decision about this line! Let me know if there are any brands/products you'd like me to review down in the comments!
