The holiday weekend is kicking off today and in case you don't know yet, the 4th of July is my favorite holiday of the year. It's just the best. I wanted to share 10 ideas of what you can do this weekend since it's about to be a gorgeous summer weekend! Also, in case you missed it earlier this week, I shared three 4th of July outfit ideas. If you're still in need of your weekend look, take a look at this post -- hopefully it'll give you some inspiration! Watch fireworks (my fave) -- Last night there were the fireworks in my town and on Saturday there are fireworks over my parents' lake. You can search your town and where the local firework shows are so you can go and watch. It's usually free and super fun! Go on a picnic -- I'm not sure why I'm so obsessed with the idea of picnics, but I am. It's always been my dream date. I just want to pack a lunch (and maybe a bottle of wine!) and go hang out outside. It'd be fun as a date or with friends this weekend! Take a bike ride -- Biking is fun and also exercise so you're killing two birds with one stone. If you don't own a bike, a lot of cities will let you rent them. BBQ -- Cooking out is always a good time. Grab a few chairs and enjoy a meal outside in the summer heat. Add in some friends or family and you have an expensive at-home night. Go to brunch -- Ahhh who doesn't love brunch?! There's just something about eating yummy food paired with a cold mimosa that does it for me. Needless to say, brunch is always a good idea. Rent kayaks or paddle boards -- Where I live there are tons of places where you can rent kayaks or paddle boards. This is a fun way to enjoy the summer without knowing someone who owns the equipment. A quick google search should get you on your way. Go to the farmer's market -- Local farmer's markets have some of the best product and walking around is always a fun time. You can grab some yummy food to cook later in the day plus there are always gorgeous flowers at the market! Window shop your own town -- Something I'm admittedly terrible at is knowing my own town. Sometimes it's fun to just walk around your own town and see if from a different perspective for a few hours. I see the same places every time I drive through the downtown area, but I've walked it and noticed so many little shops I never knew existed before. Find water -- Nothing says summer to me like being on the water. If you don't live near water, sometimes you'll be able to find a hotel pool that is open to the public, make a drive to the ocean (if you live near a coast), you can go tubing down a nearby river, and some lakes have public beaches. Enjoy your local parks -- A lot of times there are events at our local parks that we aren't even aware of such as movies or concerts. Check out your local park and maybe you can catch a movie under the stars! I hope this list gave you a few ideas of things to do either this weekend or even this summer. No matter what you do this week, I hope you have a great one and find something fun to do! xoxo, Sarah Shop this look below:
